Roy Scott DePew for City Council President
Real Leadership. Real Change. Putting People First.

I’m Roy Scott DePew — a lifelong resident of Canton, a God-fearing man, and an active member of The Father’s House Church. My wife, my children, and I are all proud graduates of Canton City Schools.

With over 26 years of experience as a self-employed business owner — from transportation to insurance, fixed investments to notary work — I understand how to solve problems, manage resources, and get things done.

But what I see in our city right now deeply concerns me.

[City Crime Statistics Section with Emphasis – “The Crisis We Can’t Ignore”]

Canton’s crime rate is 189% higher than the national average.
The violent crime rate? A staggering 362% higher.

  • 1 in 85 residents will become a victim of a violent crime.
  • Our property crime rate is 183% higher than the national average.
  • We rank in the bottom 10% of all U.S. cities for violent crime.

This is a crisis — and we cannot afford to ignore it any longer.

Call to Action & “Why I’m Running”

I’ve looked hard at what’s happening — and what’s not. For over 20 years, a single party has controlled this city.
Same decisions. Same results. Same silence when it comes to real solutions.

I’m running for City Council President because enough is enough.

We need:

Balance in leadership
Accountability at every level
Real investment in public safety
Leaders who work for the people — not party politics

I’m not in this to climb the ladder. I’m in this to fight for Canton — and for the families who deserve to feel safe in their own neighborhoods.

This city belongs to you, not just the people in office.
